New Visuals Release “Geoburst” and Free Set “Geoboom”

geoburst_news

Our latest visuals release Geoburst was born out of a need to add some fun and dynamics to live visual performances. These were crafted specifically for on-the-fly triggering but they can also be used as loops, especially when BPM synchronized.

The main set, Geoburst consists of 20 one-shot visual loops of various abstract, custom-made fully 3D geometric shapes animated with decays to fade from existence. We’ve released a free set called Geoboom which is a sample of Geoburst to play around with and see how fun it is to bang out these one-shots.

Resolume Tutorial: Expressive Live Triggering

This Resolume tutorial for Arena 4 & 5 and Avenue 4 will show you how to create an improvisational, expressive, live visual performance using one-shot visuals and piano mode effects. One-shots are short clips or loops that can be triggered on the fly as quick visual hits or bursts.

You will learn how to setup your composition for this performance style, map visuals to your computer keyboard or MIDI controller, and use Piano mode to toggle multiple effects on the fly along with your visuals.

The following one-shot visual loops are ready-made for Resolume and can be triggered using the techniques outlined in this tutorial:

→ Geoburst (Set of 20 Premium Visuals)
→ Geoboom (Free Set of 3 One-shot Visuals)

Live Visuals Session // 090214

4 layers of live visuals in this session were mostly triggered live. Abstract, geometric one-shot loops were triggered on beat, on the fly using shortcuts. Mirrored 2D lines loop and blast on and off with audioreactive opacity. A loop of organic tentacles flash to the beat and a smoky tiled visual loops in the background. All layers had hue and color adjustments to match a blue palette. Originally posted on Instagram.

Visuals used in this session:
• DOC008 Ex, Fa, Nin, Oct, Ri, Spi (Geoburst)
• DOC007 Vunnel (Cosmic Garden)
• DOC004 Forward Slash (Kinetic Shifts)
• DOC003 Space Clouds (Strangescapes)

New Visuals Release “Cosmic Garden”

August 7th, 2014

DOC007 Grid

Here at DocOptic headquarters on the lush and currently humid island of Oahu, Hawaii, inspiration many times comes to us from our natural habitat. And as much as we love polygons, sharp glowing lines, and shiny objects, we felt it was time to create something different that celebrated the organic side of life.

Enter the Cosmic Garden. A collection of ten 3D visual VJ loops inspired by nature, organisms, the cosmos, and dreams. We set out to challenge ourselves by creating a set of visuals influenced by patterns found in nature sprinkled with a side of weird, mathematical, and surreal.

We felt it was time for a change of scenery. A warm, sincere thanks to everyone who has supported our work in one way or another. You inspire us as well!

Support for CoGe VJ Software

coge_logoWe’re happy to announce that all of our visuals have been tested on CoGe VJ software! Using the HAP codec, CoGe is able to playback DocOptic visuals using GPU acceleration and users will experience performance gains and increased frames per second, even at HD 1080p.

Give it a try yourself, download the CoGe demo and grab a few free visuals while you’re at it. We’re pumped to welcome the CoGe team as one of our partners to provide you with visuals that are guaranteed to run great on their software.
